A skunk that came in contact with a dog in the Shoal Creek Road area of North Hall has tested positive for rabies, Hall County Animal Services announced Friday.
The animals came in contact on Sunday. The skunk was shipped Wednesday the Georgia Public Health Lab-Virology Section in Decatur, where it was confirmed to be rabid.
Positive alert signs will be posted in the area where the rabid skunk was located. Anyone in the area who sees an animal acting abnormally os asked to call Hall County Animal Services at 770-531-6830, or Hall County Dispatch after daytime hours at 770-536-8812.
