Flowery Branch wraps up qualifying today for the Nov. 2 special election to fill the mayor and Post 4 seats.
No one qualified Tuesday for either seat.

On Monday, Mike Miller and Michael Lee Pitts qualified for mayor and Joseph Merritt Anglin qualified for Post 4.

The winners of both seats will serve out unexpired terms.

Since Diane Hirling resigned in May as mayor to retire to Florida, Miller vacated Post 4 to run for mayor. Both began their terms on Jan. 1.

Residents interested in becoming a candidate can submit paperwork at City Hall, 5517 Main St.
