Update, July 10: The boil water advisory for the city of Lula has been lifted, according to the city website. Residents no longer need to boil their water before drinking it.
The city of Lula is under a boil water advisory until further notice due to the effects of a water main break. The break — which occurred on the afternoon of July 7 — was caused by a private contractor installing fiber cables.
The break could cause loss of water or low water pressure for some Lula residents. All who still have water are advised to boil tap water for at least a minute before drinking it. After boiling, water intended for drinking should be cooled in a covered container.
The city of Lula will provide another update as soon as tap water is deemed safe to drink again.
