A House committee investigating the federal government’s role in education will hold its final public meeting Tuesday at the University of North Georgia’s Gainesville campus. At the meeting, legislators will hear from educators and the public on issues including Common Core standards and federal education funding. “We’re hearing from both sides,” said state Rep. Carl Rogers, R-Gainesville, co-chairman of the committee.
