A utility pole was broken by falling trees at Laurel Park in Gainesville due to last week’s ice storm. The park will remain closed until power is restored.
Power companies worked feverishly last week to restore power to tens of thousands, but there was still work to be done Monday at Laurel Park in Gainesville. “There are still a few trees down in the park; the power lines are what is causing the problem,” said Mike Little, director of Hall County Parks and Leisure. An official at Georgia Power said there were wires down and three poles broken.
