Police search for suspect in Waffle House stabbing

The Gainesville Police Department is currently investigating an aggravated assault that occurred Sunday morning at about 3:12 a.m. at the Waffle House located at 2507 Pentee Drive.

Antione Jackson, 24, reported to police that he was at the restaurant when several black female patrons became involved in a physical brawl. Jackson said when he attempted to intervene in the altercation, one of the women stabbed him three times. He was stabbed once in the left elbow and twice in the left side. After the assault, Jackson said that all the women involved in the fight left the restaurant.

Jackson was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center for treatment and was released later Sunday morning. Jackson identified the suspect as an approximately 30-year-old black female, according to a press release from the Gainesville Police Department. The suspect was last seen wearing a gray coat and blue jeans.
