Police say a Gainesville man asked another man to help him move furniture at his home before he performed a medical exam on the man that led to to a “non-consensual sexual encounter.”
Jamieson Leland Allen, 48, was indicted April 23 on charges of sexual battery, practicing medicine without a license, aggravated sodomy and sodomy. He was booked into the jail April 27.
The Gainesville police report and the Hall County Comprehensive Justice Information System list Allen as a registered nurse at Northeast Georgia Medical Center Gainesville.
Northeast Georgia Health System public relations manager Sean Couch said Allen was an employee but is no longer employed with the hospital.
Citing personnel issues, Couch declined to comment further.
A March 26 police report lists Allen’s address as the location of the alleged incident involving a 19-year-old victim.
Items found at the home included buccal swabs, stethoscopes and robes.
According to the indictment, Allen allegedly “did attach the title of doctor to his name and indicated that he was engaged in the treatment of diseased and injured human beings, to a member of the public.”
A representative for Allen’s attorney Hammond Law said he had no comment at this time.
The mother of the man said her son was approached by Allen in a van regarding moving furniture. To protect the identity of the victim, The Times has not named the mother.
The mother, citing the information told to her by her son, said when the two arrived at the home, Allen discussed performing an exam related to breathing.
“An exam of the victim was initiated by Allen under disguise of medical work,” according to Gainesville police, which led to the alleged sexual encounter.
“He called me as soon as it happened and was like, ‘Mama, I think someone just violated me,’” the mother said her son told her over the phone.
Police responded to Northeast Georgia Medical Center that same day regarding the sexual assault report.
