Six people were robbed at gunpoint and then tied up Saturday evening at a Gainesville home.

The incident took place after someone knocked on the door at 1062 Myrtle St. As a female answered the door, five Hispanic men forced their way into the house carrying handguns, said Gainesville police Lt. Floyd Canup.

The gunmen then forced everyone to the floor and robbed and tied them up. They left the house in a Ford Explorer they had stolen from one of the people at the house.

The vehicle was found abandoned at the AutoZone on Jesse Jewell Parkway a short time later.

No one was injured in the incident, which took place at about 6:15 p.m.

The suspects, all in their 20s, were wearing dark clothes at the time.

Anyone who has information about the incident or suspects are asked to call Gainesville police at 770-534-5252.
