Police: Driver from I-985 rollover crash in stable condition

The driver in a single-vehicle wreck is in stable condition as police continue to investigate the incident that shut down lanes on Interstate 985 Friday, June 14.

Gainesville Police Sgt. Justin Martin said Aeril Marie Hartz, 21, of Johns Creek, was considered stable Thursday, June 20.

Hartz was the only occupant and was transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in critical condition Friday.

The single-vehicle incident around 1 p.m. Friday near exit 17.

“The driver was northbound and traveled across the median striking the barrier cable on the southbound side of the roadway.  This caused the vehicle to over turn several times,” Chief Jay Parrish wrote in an email.
