Two known gang members have been arrested for their alleged roles in a drive-by shooting Sunday.

Gainesville police arrested Miguel Nunez-Lerado, 20, of Gillsville Highway, following a drive-by shooting in which no one was injured.

Police believe Nunez-Lerado was in a car from which shots from an air-powered BB pistol were fired, shattering the rear driver’s side window of another vehicle traveling on Monroe Drive shortly after 8 p.m. Monday, said Lt. Scott Ware with Hall County’s Multi-Agency Narcotics Squad.

Both vehicles were traveling on Monroe Drive at the time of the shooting. The victim, a pregnant woman, was not injured, Ware said. Following reports of the shooting, police placed a lookout on the vehicle, and shortly after, Gainesville police pulled over a vehicle matching the description.

Two people then fled the vehicle. Police arrested one of them, Nunez-Lerado, on Sunday. The other suspect, 17-year-old Joe Blanco, also a known gang member, was arrested Monday, Ware said. Police believe Blanco had been driving the car at the time of the shooting.

Nunez-Lerado is a known member of MVS 13, or Mexican Vatos Society, and is being held in the Hall County Jail on charges of aggravated assault and violation of the street gang and terrorism act, Ware said.
