Four men have been arrested in connection with thefts of cash from taxi drivers in November and January incidents, Gainesville police said Wednesday.

Darimus Shunguay Robinson, 23, of Baxley, and Johnny Vasquez, 22, of Gainesville, face charges of robbery by force.

The two are accused of robbing a taxi driver on Nov. 19 in the 2600 block of Lenox Drive, said police spokesman Cpl. Joe Britte.

According to the incident report, the driver stated she was put in a headlock and strong-armed into giving up her cellphone and cash, totaling $80.

Robinson was also charged with obstruction of an emergency call. He is being held with no bond in the Hall County Jail.

He requested a committal hearing, set for Feb. 13 in Hall County Magistrate Court.

Vasquez, also being held without bond, has a committal hearing set for Feb. 17.

Two Gainesville men accused in a separate incident involving snatching cash from a taxi driver were also arrested in the past week, Britte said.

Ranaldo Randolph Crosdale, 23, of Gainesville, is accused of robbery by snatching and theft of services, a misdemeanor.

Police said Crosdale snatched between $200 and $250 from taxi driver Gregorio Tavira on Jan. 18 at Deerwood Trace, in the Willow Ridge Subdivision.

Kelvin Cornelio, 23, of Gainesville, also faces one count of misdemeanor theft of services in the incident. He was booked into the Hall County Jail, where he posted $1,000 bond.

He requested a committal hearing, scheduled for Feb. 28.

Crosdale has also posted bond according to jail records, set at $8,000.
