A person who was reported to have drowned has been found safe, according to Hall County Fire Services.

Hall County Fire Services responded at 6:51 p.m. to the reported drowning at Sunset Cove in Lake Lanier Islands, Fire Marshal Scott Cagle said. At 8:20 p.m., Cagle reported the person had been found.

"He is ok and was in another area," Cagle said.

After an hour of searching, Hall County Fire Services Marine Rescue divers had halted their efforts and turned the matter over to the Hall County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigations Division, Cagle said.

A male subject in his 20s was reported to have entered the water at the dock, swam under the dock and was not seen again. Cagle said officials had received some conflicting reports as to whether the subject was in the water or not. The subject had also been looked for in the water park, Cagle said.

Other agencies responding were the Department of Natural Resources, Hall County Sheriff's Office, and Army Corps of Engineers.
