Papas Pizza To-Go owner resubmits deannexation request

Businessman Chris Nonnemaker has reapplied for deannexation from Clermont, fulfilling a pledge he made at the April 7 Town Council meeting. He is seeking to withdraw from the city his 6-acre tract featuring a Papa’s Pizza To-Go restaurant off U.S. 129/Cleveland Highway, an act that would leave the property in unincorporated Hall County. Nonnemaker had gotten approval from the council in March for the measure, but he balked when a councilwoman who sided with him in the first vote — Kristi Crumpton — was absent for the final vote.
