Police and sheriff’s officers searched without success for a trio of robbers who held up a Gainesville liquor store shortly after noon Friday.
Gainesville Police Lt. Brian Kelly said the Star Package store at 1506 Atlanta Highway was robbed at gunpoint around 12:35 p.m. There were no injuries during the robbery.
The store’s owner, an employee and a customer were inside when two Hispanic males and a Hispanic female entered the business and demanded money, Kelly said. The victims handed over the money, and the robbers fled in a red, older Chevrolet Astro van heading out of town, Kelly said.
The two men were armed with handguns; the woman was not, Kelly said.
The robbers appeared to be in their 20s. The woman wore a white, long-sleeved shirt with tassels in front and a brown hat. Both men wore leather jackets and blue jeans, witnesses told police.
Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call Gainesville police at 770-534-5254.
