Authorities still have not identified the owner of a horse that was struck by a motorist Thursday on U.S. 129, killing the driver and the animal.
The Georgia Department of Agriculture is assisting the Georgia State Patrol in trying to locate the owner of the horse, which wandered into the road near the intersection with Gaines Mill Road before 6 a.m. Thursday. The horse’s owner remained unknown Friday, officials said.
George Satterfield, 56, of Comer, was killed after his Nissan Sentra collided with the horse.
