Senior Airman Montrai Tate has been awarded the Air Force Achievement Medal for his service in Iraq.
The award is for “outstanding achievement” from April 21-Oct. 21, 2017.
Tate conducted escort missions outside the security perimeter at the largest airfield in Iraq supporting Operation Inherent Resolve.
In announcing his medal, the Air Force said Tate “was integral to the success of a casualty evacuation mission. He intercepted the aircraft and guided the convoy expediting medical care to two Iraqi soldiers injured by small arms fire.”
Tate is a 2012 Chestatee High graduate, and he is the son of Farrah and Reco Robertson of Gainesville.
