One injured after car strikes telephone pole on Thompson Bridge Road

One person was seriously injured Friday, June 29, after a car struck a power pole on Thompson Bridge Road in Gainesville. Gainesville Police Cpl. Jessica Van said authorities are asking for motorists to avoid the area because of downed power lines across the road. The crash was reported before 2:30 p.m. Friday at Thompson Bridge Road and Provincial Point Drive near Skate Country.
