Olson, Kannapell named STAR students
Kiwanis Club honors STAR students from public, private high schools

Top high school seniors from Gainesville and Hall County schools were recognized Tuesday at a luncheon for STAR students and teachers.

Chestatee High senior Matthew Olson was named Hall County's system STAR student at the event sponsored by the Gainesville Kiwanis Club. Olson chose Darrell Skogman as his STAR teacher.

Claire Kannapell, a senior at Gainesville High School, was named the Gainesville system STAR student. She chose Lara Freeman as her STAR teacher.

West Hall: STAR Student Brittany Nicole Farmer, STAR Teacher Anna Weaver

To become STAR student, students must have the highest score on the Scholastic Assessment Test and be in the top 10 percent in their class. The STAR student has the honor of choosing his or her STAR teacher.
