Hall County Sheriff's deputies patrolled Thursday morning in response to multiple reports of a mysterious noise.

A number of residents called 911 to report hearing a loud noise and feeling the ground vibrate between 10 and 11 a.m.

Most of the reports came from the area of Browns Bridge and McEver roads, according to Col. Jeff Strickland.

Strickland said Thursday night that deputies had not determined the source.

Lt. Col. James Wilson, a spokesman for Dobbins Air Reserve Base in Marietta, said the cause likely wasn't an aircraft coming to or from the base. A flight schedule for the base did not indicate any aircraft would have been passing through the area.
