Ways to get 3-year contract honored

Call 1-800-235-8663 or visit the closest Beltone store. The three nearest to Hall County are:

• 2000 A West Broad St., Athens, 706-227-4199

• 149 Reinhardt College Parkway, Canton, 678-493-2725

• 115 N. Main St. Suite 4, Jasper, 706-692-2849

Customers who got their hearing aids from Beltone in Oakwood faced an unexpected obstacle at the end of March.

Beltone’s Oakwood location was one of four that closed “without warning,” said Lisa Ginensky, Beltone manager of legal services and lease administrator.

Ginensky said it was because one of the company’s authorized dispensers closed. That dispenser also closed Cumming, Lawrenceville and Johns Creek stores.

“We are looking to open again in the immediate area (of all four stores) as soon as possible,” Ginensky wrote in an email. “We again want to take this opportunity to express our regret to our customers for the inconvenience.”

To have their 3-year contracts honored, customers should either call 1-800-235-8663 or go to their nearest service center, which would be in Athens, Canton or Jasper for most of Hall County residents. They can search for Beltone locations online at

A customer of the Oakwood store alerted The Times after she showed up for an appointment in April to find a sign on the door noting the closing and a phone number to call for help.
