Oakwood police are looking for a man who robbed the United Community Bank on Mundy Mill Road Wednesday. No one was hurt.

Capt. Andy Smith said a man walked into the bank about 11:20 a.m. Wednesday and asked a clerk for money.

No threats were made, no weapon was shown and there was no mention of a weapon, Smith said.

The clerk, following policy to cooperate with all demands for money, turned over an undisclosed amount of cash to the man, who then left, Smith said.

Oakwood police and Hall County sheriff’s officials responded soon after to a silent alarm at the bank.

The man was last seen walking away from the bank.

There were no customers in the bank at the time of the robbery and no employees were injured.

Police are studying surveillance images from the bank to try to identify a suspect. A suspect is shown in photos as a slender white man with a beard, wearing camouflage pants, sunglasses and a “Git-R-Done” hat.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call Oakwood police at 770-858-9398.
