Oakwood police seek help identifying theft suspect

Oakwood Police investigators and Crime Stoppers Greater Atlanta are asking the public’s help in identifying a theft suspect.

Police say the suspect, a black man, entered the Suntrust Bank on Mundy Mill Road in Oakwood on Aug. 7 and fraudulently withdrew $8,500 from a victim’s account. While pretending to be the victim, the suspect also obtained a cashier’s check in the amount of $27,000.

The subject fled the scene on foot and was last seen running toward the neighboring Goodwill store.

A reward of up to $2,000 is being offered for information leading to the arrest and indictment.  

Anyone with information is asked to call the Oakwood Police Department at 770-534-2364. Information also can be submitted anonymously to the Crime Stoppers Atlanta tip line at 404-577-TIPS (8477), online at www.crimestoppersatlanta.org or by texting CSA and the tip to CRIMES (274637). 

People do not have to give their name or any identifying information to be eligible for the reward.
