Nearly nine months after starting a public-private industrial venture, Oakwood is moving toward a road project that would connect its fledgling industrial park to Tanners Creek Business Park. City Council voted this month to contract with engineering firm CHA Inc. for concept plans on extending Industry Way from its cul-de-sac in the Tanners Creek park to the city’s 32-acre industrial park on West White Road — a 1,100-foot extension. The city’s goal is to have the road design completed this year and the project taking place in 2014.
