Oakwood considers changes to alcohol law

Oakwood City Council plans to discuss possible changes tonight to the city's alcohol law.

One of the key issues could be minimum required seating at a restaurant where alcohol is served, City Manager Stan Brown said this morning.

Current law requires at least 55 seats.

Brown didn't have the proposed number, saying that City Attorney Donnie Hunt is still working on the draft of the changes, which go before City Council in a first reading. The changes would become official after a second vote, which would take place at a later meeting.

The council is set to meet at 7 p.m. at City Hall, 4035 Walnut Circle.
