In addition to excited football players, the North Hall High School Anniversary parade featured cheerleaders and floats showcasing each decade of the school, which celebrates its 50th year with events this weekend.

After the parade, which also went by the middle school, a band featuring current and alumni musicians was to perform on the football field. North Hall played Gilmer County High on Friday night for their homecoming game.

The event will spill over to today, when the school will hold guided tours every 20 minutes (beginning in the front lobby) from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and entertainment in the football stadium as well as games. Also featured are class reunions in the stadium and a memorabilia room in the media center.

A program with presentations and recognitions is set for 1 p.m. Shuttles will run from parking lots at Mount Vernon Elementary School, which is at 4844 Jim Hood Road, and Mount Vernon Baptist Church, north of the school at 5233 Will Wheeler Road.
