A home in Flowery Branch was completely destroyed and another Hall County home was damaged by fire Thursday, but no one was injured in the blazes, according to Hall County Fire Chief David Kimbrell.

A neighbor reported a burning home on the 6900 block of Deaton Henry Road off Spout Springs Road around 1 p.m. Thursday, according to Kimbrell. No one was at home at the time of the fire.

The 1,000-square-foot home was completely engulfed in flames by the time firefighters arrived. Kimbrell estimates the loss at $80,000.

While firefighters were fighting that fire, a homeowner reported a fire shortly before 2 p.m., Kimbrell said. This time, fire had damaged an outside wall of a 3,500-square-foot home on the 2500 block of Athens Highway.

Kimbrell said the fire had extinguished itself by the time firefighters arrived and caused about $10,000 worth of damage to the area.
