No one was hurt but heavy damage resulted from a house fire Wednesday afternoon east of Gainesville.

Hall County fire crews responded to the call in the 1000 block of Travis Drive just before 5 p.m. and found a heavy fire in the rear of a 1,000-square-foot home.

The occupants who were home at the time escaped without injury, Fire Services spokesman Scott Cagle reported in a news release.

Firefighters were able to put out the blaze and contain damage to the rear of the house, which suffered heavy fire and smoke damage estimated at $40,000.

Travis Drive was shut down as a result of the fire.

The residents of the approximately $65,000 do not have insurance, Cagle reported.
