Newsmakers in business: The Business House brokers chosen to Million Dollar Club

North Georgia business brokers Jeffrey Merry and Jon Merry were among 18 Georgia Association of Business Brokers members named to the 2017 Million Dollar Clubs chosen for brokering the sale of small, medium-sized and large businesses worth more than $90 million in 2017.

Jeffery Merry Sr. is owner and founder and Jon Merry is a senior business broker with The Business House. 

Jeffrey Merry is past president of the GABB and has been a top producer numerous times, including part of the Million Dollar Club since its inception in 1999. He is a GABB board member through 2018. As a business intermediary, certified exit planner and consultant, he has been involved in mergers and acquisitions ranging in price from $60,000 to more than $15 million. 

Merry Sr. is an adjunct instructor for the MBA program at the University of North Georgia. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Mercer University in Macon, a Master of Business Administration from the University of Illinois Edwardsville, and a Juris Doctorate from Atlanta Law School. He is a resident of Dahlonega and a licensed real estate agent in Georgia, Florida and North Carolina .

Jon Merry has been in the business mergers and acquisition industry for more than 10 years. He specializes in manufacturing, distribution, service, medical and health care industries. Since 2012, he has been recognized as one of the GABB’s top five brokers for closed M&A transactions and is a former GABB board member. 

A native of Georgia, Merry was a professional umpire for minor league baseball for 11 years. He and his wife and two sons live in historic Dahlonega.
