Newsmaker in business: New physicians Osorio, Wood join Longstreet Clinic

Longstreet Clinic has added two new physicians to its group.

Gainesville native Connie F. Osorio, M.D., recently joined Longstreet Clinic Obstetrics & Gynecology. She will see patients at the Gainesville and Braselton offices.

Osorio graduated from West Hall High School and went on to complete her bachelor’s degree at Berry College in Rome. She earned her medical degree at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta and completed a residency in obstetrics & gynecology at Vidant Medical Center-East Carolina University Brody School of Medicine in Greenville, N.C. 

“We could not be more pleased to welcome Dr. Osorio back to Gainesville. We are always honored when top talent chooses to practice at Longstreet Clinic,” said Brett Barger, M.D., Longstreet Obstetrics & Gynecology chairman.

She is board-eligible with the American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology and is a member of both the American Medical Association and the American College of Obstetrics & Gynecology. Osorio speaks both English and Spanish 

Another area native, Jonathan S. Wood, M.D., recently joined Longstreet Clinic with Longstreet Clinic Pediatrics in Oakwood.

Wood completed his bachelor’s degree at Mercer University in Macon and earned his medical degree at Mercer’s School of Medicine. He completed a residency in pediatrics at Navient Health / Mercer University School of Medicine.

“We are excited to welcome Dr. Wood to our comprehensive pediatrics practice,” said Longstreet Clinic Pediatrics department chair, Chandra Miller, M.D. 

Wood is board-eligible with the American Board of Pediatrics. 

Both new doctors have medical staff privileges at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
