International Charter Academy of Georgia, a new Japanese-English dual language immersion charter school opening in Peachtree Corners in August, has selected Carrie Woodcock as its new principal. She will start the job July 1.
Woodcock is currently the head of world languages and global initiatives for Hall County Schools, where she made the district known for innovation in language instruction. Prior to that position, she was associate principal at World Language Academy, a pre-K through eighth-grade Spanish-English dual language immersion school in Hall County Schools, which she helped establish.
Woodcock has a Master of Education in teaching additional languages from the University of Georgia and an advanced degree in leadership from the University of North Georgia. She has worked to improve teacher recruitment and certification for dual immersion schools across Georgia.
