Four lanes of Ga. 347/Lanier Islands Parkway between Interstate 985 and McEver Road are expected to be open to motorists today, nearly two months earlier than expected. Crews are scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. finishing work on signs and striping, said Teri Pope, Georgia Department of Transportation district spokeswoman. The lanes along the busy commercial stretch could open by 5 p.m. The South Hall project’s opening also includes upgraded intersections at Ga. 13/Atlanta Highway and McEver Road.
