A C.W.M. Contracting crew prepares a crosswalk at the intersection of McEver Road and Lanier Islands Parkway on Wednesday as the Georgia Department of Transportation plans to open the all lanes of the parkway today.
Four lanes of Ga. 347/Lanier Islands Parkway between Interstate 985 and McEver Road are expected to be open to motorists today, nearly two months earlier than expected. Crews are scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. finishing work on signs and striping, said Teri Pope, Georgia Department of Transportation district spokeswoman. The lanes along the busy commercial stretch could open by 5 p.m. The South Hall project’s opening also includes upgraded intersections at Ga. 13/Atlanta Highway and McEver Road.
