Law enforcement patrolling the streets over the New Year’s holiday made 17 DUI arrests, according to the Hall County jail log.

This year’s arrest total is four more than last year’s 13 arrests from Dec. 31 to Jan. 1.

According to Georgia State Patrol, troopers investigated 536 crashes statewide between Friday evening and Monday. There were 11 deaths over the holiday weekend, according to state patrol.

Last year’s holiday crash total was 412 wrecks, and there were 10 fatalities that year.
