New senior living community to open Friday in Gainesville

A ribbon cutting will be held 11 a.m. Friday for an independent senior living community in Gainesville.

Myrtle Terraces includes 84 apartments at $660 per month, including utilities.

Apartments have standard kitchen appliances and washer and dryer connections. The community has a picnic pavilion and grilling area, community garden, on-site beauty and barber shop, TV lounge with juice bar, library, activity rooms, laundry facility, fitness center and walking trails.

The Georgia Department of Community Affairs, Affordable Equity Partners Inc. and Beverly J. Searles Foundation are among the partners that developed the community.
