Grading is underway on a Holiday Inn Express & Suites hotel planned off Dawsonville Highway/Ga. 53 in Gainesville, beside Buffalo Wild Wings and behind Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen.
The four-story, 55,635-square-foot hotel will feature 94 rooms and an outdoor pool and patio, said Matt Tate, Gainesville’s planning manager.
Holiday Inn officials couldn’t be reached for comment Tuesday.
The hotel will be located in a fast-growing, bustling section of town.
North Lake Square shopping center, which is across Dawsonville Highway and near Ahaluna Drive, will soon feature a 10,150-square-foot building housing a relocated Five Guys Burgers and Fries, plus a new Lee Nails and Domino’s Pizza stores.
Five Guys will be moving down the street from its current location near Best Buy.
The building is expected to be complete by the first quarter of 2017.
Hobby Lobby was the shopping center’s first store when it opened in October 2015, followed by Academy Sports + Outdoors the following month.
Other stores at North Lake Square include HomeGoods, Five Below and a Pollo Tropical restaurant, all of which opened this summer.
