By the end of the year My Sister’s Place, a homeless shelter for women and children, will be able to double the number of families it helps. Renovations to the nonprofit’s new shelter, an existing apartment building on Martin Luther King Boulevard in Gainesville, are underway and expected to be completed in the next six months. The nonprofit’s current location on Davis Street in Gainesville has enough room for 10 people to stay at a time.
