Terrance Putman, 23, of Gainesville was killed in a motorcycle crash early Wednesday morning, Gainesville police said.

Lt. Floyd Canup said police and emergency medical personnel responded to a location on Hunter Street. They discovered that a motorcycle left the road, struck a utility pole and ejected the driver.

The driver of the motorcycle was dead at the scene. According to his obituary, Putman was a student at Lanier Technical College.
