Lisa Hicks’ holiday celebration will be all about her son, Joseph Edward Patterson. She’ll be spending it with her grandson, a healthy 7-month-old boy named Joseph Gabriel Patterson, who “looks more like his father every day.” And in her spare time she will be combing over fentanyl overdose records as she works to raise awareness for Joe’s Law, a bill she hopes to get in front of lawmakers in honor of her 23-year-old son’s death.
