A car traveling the wrong way on Dawsonville Highway/Ga. 53 caused a three-car crash that snarled traffic during the Tuesday morning commute into Gainesville.

Georgia State Patrol said a vehicle was driving west in the eastbound lanes before hitting one vehicle, causing it to hit another vehicle, about 6:51 a.m. near Stephens Circle.

All three drivers were transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Eastbound lanes of Dawsonville Highway near the wreck were closed for about an hour, according to the state patrol. Eastbound motorists were being turned around at about 8 a.m. by the Hall County Sheriff’s Office.

A crash at Duckett Mill Road also blocked traffic on Dawsonville Highway for part of the morning.
