A North Hall County family of four is homeless after a fire destroyed its home Sunday morning.

Hall County firefighters received a call at 8:46 a.m. to a structure fire in the 5000 block of Gillespie Road off Price Road, said Hall County Fire Marshal Capt. Scott Cagle.

They arrived to find about one-fourth of a 1,200-square-foot home ablaze.

Firefighters were able to control the fire within 30 minutes, but “the home is estimated to be a total loss, along with its contents,” Cagle said.

Two adults and two children were in the home at the time. One of them refused treatment and transport by medical responders for possible smoke inhalation.

The American Red Cross has been called to help the family.

“The fire appears to be accidental in nature but remains under investigation,” Cagle said.
