The following schools are closed due to the threat of winter weather:

Schools

• Gainesville City Schools are closed Monday. All 12-month employees are asked to report to the board office at 9 a.m. Teachers and staff are asked to take part in an online professional learning day. All system employees are asked to check email for further instructions.

• Hall County schools are closed Tuesday. All 12-month employees are asked to report at 9 a.m. or when able.

• Lumpkin County schools are closed Monday.

• White County schools are closed Monday and Tuesday.

• Dawson County schools are closed Monday and Tuesday.

• Habersham County schools are closed Monday.

• Banks County schools teacher inservice day delayed until 9 a.m.

• Forsyth County schools closed Monday and Tuesday, staff report at 9 a.m.

• Rabun County schools work day delayed until 10 a.m.

• Union County schools employees report by 9:30 a.m.

Colleges, universities

• University of North Georgia campuses will delay opening until 11 a.m. Spring semester classes will begin at noon. The school earlier reported they would begin at 1 p.m., but that was changed.

• Brenau University will delay opening by two hours Monday.

• North Georgia Technical College campus will open at 11 a.m. Monday; conditions will be evaluated and schedule changes posted.

• Lanier Technical College will close Monday and Tuesday.

• Truett-McConnell College will delay opening until 10 a.m.

Other closings

• J.A. Walters Family YMCA, Oakwood YMCA both will be closed Monday.

• White County Family YMCA will be closed Monday.

• Longstreet Clinic all offices delayed opening until 10 a.m.
