The suspect in a Monday stabbing was found at a Gainesville motel Tuesday and arrested, said Hall County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Nicole Bailes.

Authorities responded to the 1300 block of East Ridge Round around 10 a.m. Monday. Shannon Joe Head, 35, of Gainesville was suspected of stabbing Ignacio Radats-Delgado after an argument.

“They did know each other, and it stemmed from a verbal dispute between the two of them,” Bailes said.

After the Special Operations Unit followed up on some leads, authorities apprehended Head at the GuestHouse Inn & Suites on Queen City Parkway on Tuesday night.

Radats-Delgado was transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center on Monday after suffering injuries to his abdomen that were not considered life-threatening.

Head has been charged with aggravated assault and also had an outstanding Superior Court probation warrant, Bailes said.

No additional charges will be brought at this time, she said.

Head was booked into the Hall County Jail, where he remains.
