Medical Center Open golf tourney raises record amount

Michael Callahan and Jody Cooley, co-chairmen of the 23rd annual Medical Center Open Golf Tournament, announced Thursday at the 19th Hole Reception at Chicopee Woods Golf Course in Gainesville that the tournament raised $250,008, a new record for the Open. The Medical Center Foundation Board of Trustees selected Center Point as the beneficiary of this yera’s Open with tournament proceeds going to support Center Point’s expansion into South Hall County. The Medical Center Open’s top prize, the Woody Stewart Trophy, was awarded to Kevin Smith, Michael Reynolds, Justin Smith and Timothy Ledford with the low gross score of the day.
