Maysville woman ejected from motorcycle in fatal wreck

A Maysville woman was killed after she and the driver of the motorcycle she was on were ejected Saturday night in Lula, according to authorities.

Georgia State Patrol Sgt. A.J. Allen said troopers investigated a wreck around 5:30 p.m. June 30 on Ga. 52 west of Ga. 365.

Allen said Hugh Lambert, 45, of Maysville, was driving a 2000 Harley Davidson motorcycle westbound on Ga. 52 while negotiating a curve.

“For unknown reasons, (the motorcycle) exited onto the north shoulder and continued west. (The motorcycle) traveled down an embankment and overturned,” Allen wrote in an email.

Lambert and his passenger Cheryl Morales, 56, were ejected. Morales, who was Lambert’s longtime girlfriend, died in the wreck.

Allen said both were wearing helmets, and there was no indication of impairment.

Charges are pending at this time.

“He’s still in serious condition with a back injury at the hospital,” Allen said.
