A man told police he was beaten, shot with a BB gun and had his wallet and cellphone stolen from him by his roommates. Four men are charged in the incident and police are still searching for one.
Oakwood Police met with the man and observed “substantial bruising,” investigator Todd Templeton said.
The man said it happened May 19 at the Audubon Crest Apartments on Lanier Mill Circle, where he shared an apartment with four roommates who all worked for the same staffing agency.
“The victim reported he was beaten, shot with a BB gun multiple times, and during the assault his wallet and cell phone were stolen from him. The victim reported he attempted to leave the apartment during the assault but was prevented from doing so and forced to remain in a bedroom through the night,” Templeton wrote in an email.
The man was able to leave later and get to Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
Investigators obtained arrest warrants for the four roommates.
Miguel Angel Davila Padilla, 33, Victor Yohendy Albelo Rodriguez, 38, and Eliborio Guevara, 45, all of Oakwood, were charged with battery.
Padilla and Guevara were also charged with aggravated assault, and Rodriguez and Guevara were charged with false imprisonment.
Attorney information for the suspects was not available after 5 p.m. Friday.
Police are still looking for Estevan Perez, 20, of Oakwood, who has warrants for robbery by force, aggravated assault and aggravated battery.
Anyone with information is asked to call 911.
