A man who was jogging in his neighborhood Friday night was stabbed after two suspects approached him and asked for money, according to the Hall County Sheriff’s Office.
The victim, described only as a Hispanic male, arrived at Northeast Georgia Medical Center’s emergency room at 9:50 p.m. Friday with a nonlife-threatening injury to his lower abdomen, officials said. He later underwent surgery.
The incident occurred on Rose Petal Street in Gainesville, according to Hall County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Deputy Nicole Bailes.
“The victim indicated that he was approached by two unknown subjects while jogging in his neighborhood ... the subjects asked for money and when the victim refused to give the money he was stabbed,” Bailes said.
Bailes said Criminal Investigations was called out to the scene to investigate “but could only get limited information from the victim.”
Bailes said there are no suspects at this time. The case remains under investigation.
