A Gainesville man indicted on 17 counts of sexual abuse pleaded not guilty Tuesday in Hall County Superior Court.

Rusty Duane Alan Kempf, 20, was indicted in December on charges stemming from incidents involving four female victims ages 13 to 15 from October 2011 to this past July, Hall County officials said.

Kempf’s attorney, Dan Sammons, entered the plea before Superior Court Judge Jason Deal.

Kempf faces six counts of aggravated child molestation, six counts of child molestation, two counts of rape, two counts of statutory rape and one count of attempted aggravated child molestation.

District Attorney Lee Darragh said a trial will likely be held “later in the year, before the summer.”

Sgt. Stephen Wilbanks, spokesman for the Hall County Sheriff’s Office, reported that most of the incidents happened in Kempf’s home in East Hall, which he shares with a family member.
