A Winder man was killed Thursday morning after a deer he struck near Oakwood went completely through his vehicle. Robert S. Day, 53, was driving north on Old Flowery Branch Road, near Mountain View Road, when the accident happened at 6:53 a.m., said Tracey Watson of the Georgia Department of Public Safety. The deer “traveled through the (front) windshield into the passenger compartment of the vehicle and out the rear of the vehicle,” Watson said.
