Hall County Coroner Marion Merck has identified the person killed in a wreck Saturday morning in North Hall as Steven Kyle Martin, 22, of Dahlonega.

Martin died shortly after arriving at Gwinnett Medical Center.

The wreck took place about 8:20 a.m. on Thompson Bridge Road at Price Road, involving a 2006 Toyota Tundra and a 1996 Ford Mustang, Georgia State Patrol spokesman Gordy Wright said.

According to the investigating trooper, the Toyota crossed the center line while traveling northbound and struck the Mustang head on.

Micah James Mills, 21, of Gainesville, was driving the Toyota. He was treated for injuries at the scene.

Charges against him are pending the completion of the follow-up investigation by the state patrol’s Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team in Gainesville, Wright said.

Martin, who was driving the Mustang, initially was being flown toward Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta. But while in the air, his condition worsened and he was diverted to Gwinnett Medical Center, Hall County Fire Chief David Kimbrell said.
