A Lula man was flown to an Atlanta hospital Monday night after he was struck while riding a four-wheeler.

Joseph Turner, 44, was riding along the shoulder of Old Cornelia Highway north of Harris Drive at about 9:15 p.m., the Georgia State Patrol said. According to patrol reports, Turner turned his Honda 300 left into the path of a northbound Chevrolet Silverado driven by 44-year-old Kirk Adams of Lula.

Turner’s four-wheeler was struck by the front of Adams’ truck. The patrol said Turner failed to yield while turning left.

Turner was flown to Grady Memorial Hospital with critical injuries. There were no other injuries in the accident.
