Authorities spent Thursday afternoon investigating a fire at a singlewide mobile home where the body of a man was found.

The incident occurred at about 3:40 p.m. at 6350 Old Atlanta Road in South Forsyth County.

Capt. Jason Shivers of the Forsyth County Fire Department said firefighters discovered the man’s body in the front bedroom of the mobile home. The man’s identity has not been released.

The cause of the fire was not immediately known.

"It’s a very unfortunate incident and will be under investigation for quite some time," Shivers said.

Shivers said the mobile home was damaged heavily by the flames, and it appears the man was the only person inside. Shivers said no other injuries were reported.

Fire Chief Danny Bowman, investigators from the Forsyth County Fire Marshal’s Office and investigators from the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office responded to the incident.
